On Tuesday the 5th of July, the first implementing step was initiated for the new peer-to-peer networking partnership aiming to foster energy efficiency and renewable energy in the petrochemical and plastic industries that is being carried out by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) collaboratively with Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (SIDPEC). The activation was done through conducting the first training session for the first batch of engineers affiliated to diverse plastic factories in Egypt. The training “
Energy Management System (ISO 50001:2018)” will continue for 3 days as SIDPEC energy experts deliver the material after being accredited by UNIDO. The trainees consisted of 12 engineers who come from 7 different factories belonging to the pool of SIDPEC’s clients. A series of trainings for diverse energy aspects, motors energy efficiency, compressed air, pumps will follow to be catered to SIDPEC’s clients as well as SIDPEC’s sister companies in the petrochemicals sector with the holding company’s sponsorship and support. Also, more trainings will be delivered by SUDPEC energy experts accredited by UNIDO to tackle solar water heaters in the industrial processes.
This partnership aims to build technical capacity, and exchange expertise in the realm of energy efficiency as well as providing technical assistance and feasibility studies that factories from plastic and petrochemicals sectors can use to optimize their energy efficiency and cut down costs.
