Within the framework of The Egyptian Program for Promoting Industrial Motor Efficiency and SHIP project powered by UNIDO Egypt in cooperation with The Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Trade and fully funded by Global Environment Facility a sixth awareness session was conducted on the 31st of May to raise awareness about the vitality of energy-efficient motors in the industrial sector and pinpoint potential saving opportunities in industrial motor driven systems while knowing their economic and technical feasibility aspects and its benefits as well as highlighting the importance of clean energy transition in The General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone المنطقة الاقتصادية لقناة السويس SCZONE. The 461km zone is governed by the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone: an autonomous body with executive/regulative powers. The authority is entitled to approve decrees, propose additional incentives, as well as the full authority to oversee all areas of operation, staffing, control over budget, funding, developing partnerships and providing business facilitation services. The awareness session was conducted as part of the project’s efforts to spread awareness in extended geographical areas of Egypt’s industrial sector and reach out to most of Egypt’s industrial key players to build capacity, shed light on the technical assistance that the projects can provide to the industrial sector to elevate the market’s competitiveness, and strengthen local manufacturing in alignment with the projects’ objectives and core pillars.
