Industrial Motors Energy Efficiency Programme Team from UNIDO have collaboratively with the Ministry of Trade and Industry organized a second “Motors System Optimization” training session during the 20^th & 21^st of December. The consultants shed light on the importance of motors system optimization to 29 participants affiliated to 16 industrial companies, 5 participants affiliated to 4 consultancy firms, and 16 individual energy experts who have attended. Consultant Samir Khafagi stated the following to highlight the importance of MSO “Although electric motors are responsible for 70% of electricity consumption in the industrial sector, enhancement of motors only leads to up to 10% of savings in consumption. When coupling it with system optimization, savings can spike up to 30% or more! The system optimization approach encompasses studying and analyzing all equipment and components connected to the motor delivering the industrial work, starting at revising the real actual requirements.”
